Description
No. 294 Tadcaster Road is a house, now used as offices, built in the mid-19th century. It is constructed of yellow brick with limestone ashlar dressings and features a hipped slate roof. The building is symmetrical, comprising two storeys plus attics and three bays. The facade displays chamfered quoins, with the central bay featuring chamfered quoins above an ashlar porch. The outer bays have one-storey canted bay windows set on brick bases with stone dressings, featuring sashes without glazing bars and modillioned cornices. The first-floor windows are also sashed, adorned with architraves and a sill band. The attic is illuminated by two gabled dormers. The porch is highlighted by paired Tuscan pilasters and an entablature with a modillioned cornice. The porch doorway contains a divided door with six raised and fielded panels, topped by a semicircular overlight that includes a central light globe. There are chimneys on both the left and right sides of the building. The interior has not been inspected.
