Description

This is a house dating to 1833, restored in 1978, located on Tadcaster Road, York. It is constructed of mottled brick with painted stone or stucco dressings, and has a hipped slate roof. The house is symmetrical in design and has two storeys and three bays, with the central bay slightly recessed. The windows are sash windows with renewed glazing bars. The ground-floor windows are flanked by pilasters that support an entablature incorporating a fillet with continuous guttae and a cornice with guttae. Cellar windows with glazing bars are set below the ground-floor windows. The first-floor windows have architraves. A porch, supported by columns with late 20th-century painted marbling, has a fillet with continuous guttae below a plain cornice. The front door has six sunken panels, panelled reveals, and an overlight with margin panes and geometrical glazing. Chimneys are located to the left and right. The interior was not inspected.
