Description
No. 3 Chapter House Street is a house dating from the late 17th century, which incorporates parts of an earlier structure and has undergone later alterations. The ground floor facing the street is built of coursed squared magnesian limestone, while the first floor is rendered. The rear and left side are constructed of orange-brown brick in Flemish bond. The roof is tiled, featuring timber boxed guttering and brick stacks.
The exterior has no openings to the street, with the entrance located in the left return, accessed through a door in the garden wall. The left return showcases a two-storey twin-gabled front. The entrance door consists of six sunk panels and is situated beneath an overlight in the right bay. All windows are 12-pane sashes with segmental brick arches, with one window on each floor in the right bay and two on each floor in the left bay. An inverted bell rainwater head, decorated with a winged cherub, is positioned in the valley between the roof gables. The interior has not been inspected.
