Description
The entrance gates at Stamford House and George House date from the late 18th century and were restored in the late 20th century. They are made of wrought iron and feature a pair of open-work square gate piers adorned with curved iron scrolls, topped with additional scrolls that support spear-head finials. The central gates are wide, displaying a design of plain half-spear elements alternating with tall spears that have gilded spearheads. To the left, there is a short curved section of similar railings, and to the right, another square gate pier is present along with a small pedestrian gate that also features spear-head decoration.
