Description

This building is an outbuilding, specifically stables and a loft, located approximately 10 metres south-east of Number 37 on Tanner Row in York. It dates from around 1850 and has undergone some later alterations. The structure is made of pink-grey mottled brick laid in English garden-wall bond and features a hipped slate roof at the left end.

The exterior consists of a two-storey, three-bay front. To the right of the centre, there are double board doors beneath a long timber lintel, flanked by single board doors with divided overlights. At the left end, there is a partly slatted small-pane window. The loft windows are 16-pane sashes with stone sills, and all ground floor openings, except for the double doors, have cambered arches. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value as an integral part of Number 37.
