Description
Langholme Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse that likely dates from 1790 to 1800, with later alterations including stucco applied to the front and sides. It is constructed of red-brown brick and has a concrete pantile roof. The building features a double-depth plan with a central entrance hall and a symmetrical south front that has two rooms. The farmhouse is two storeys tall with an attic and consists of three bays. It has a plinth and quoins, and the entrance is framed by a pilastered door surround with a plain frieze, although the cornice is missing. The original door is a six-fielded-panel design beneath a moulded lintel and an overlight with radial glazing bars. The windows on the ground floor are 19th-century four-pane sashes set in original 18th-century flush wooden architraves, complete with sills and quoined surrounds. There is a first-floor band that slopes down to each side, and the eaves are stepped. The gables are stone-coped with shaped kneelers, and the end stacks have been rebuilt. On the left side, there is a six-fielded-panel door flanked by a 16-pane sash window on the left and a four-pane sash window on the right, with a similar four-pane sash window on the first floor and a blocked attic opening. The rear features sashes with glazing bars and a cogged brick eaves cornice. The interior has not been investigated, and the building was empty and disused at the time of the resurvey.
