KIRMINGTON B1210 (north side) Gate lodge to Brockiesby Park approximately 70 metres east of Brocklesby Memorial Arch

GV II Gate lodge cottage. 1864 for Brocklesby Estate. Chalk ashlar with grey brick dressings and stacks. Welsh slate roof. T-shaped on plan: two room range with central projecting single-room wing to road. Single storey and attic, three bays, with central single storey single bay wing. Chamfered plinth, raised quions, recessed board door to wing in chamfered brick surround with ashlar hood mould. Ashlar canted bay window to front of wing with chamfered wood mullions in ashlar reveals, wooden entablature and hipped roof. Two-light and three-light ground floor windows with glazing bars, wood mullions in chamfered brick reveals and ashlar hood moulds. Similar three-light attic windows to left and right gable ends, with narrow ventilation slits above. Ornate Gothic style bargeboards with bold finials. Corniced axial stack with four shafts to main range; similar single-shaft stack to wing. Ornate banded slates to swept roofs.
