Description

This is a house located at 1 Greenhill Road, dating from the late 18th century but with earlier origins. It is constructed of brick and rendered, topped with a pantile roof. The layout consists of three rooms with a lobby entry positioned to the right of the center. The house has a gable end facing the street and is two storeys high, featuring four bays, with a symmetrical entrance front comprising three bays to the right.

The building has a plinth and a doorcase adorned with pilasters that support an entablature and hood, leading to a six-panelled door set in a reveal. The windows are 16-pane flush sashes with sills, and there is a narrower dummy window located above the entrance. The eaves are stepped, supported by paired brackets that carry a wooden gutter. There is an axial stack, a left end stack, and a later single-flue stack on the right end. The left gable end features single 12-pane flush sashes on each floor.

Inside, the ground floor right and center left rooms have chamfered spine beams and exposed joists, with the heavier beam in the center left room displaying cyma stops. The interior has not been fully investigated. At the time of the resurvey, the house was empty and unoccupied.
