Description
15 and 16 Bowlalley Lane are two houses that have been converted into offices. They were built around 1820 and have undergone alterations in the mid-19th century and late 20th century. The buildings are constructed of brick, featuring a stucco ground floor and a rendered gable on the left side, with painted ashlar dressings. The roof is not visible, but there is a single ridge and a single gable stack. The gable is coped, and there is a wooden gutter supported by brackets.
The houses are two storeys high and have a four-window range of plain sashes. On the upper floor, there are two plain sashes on the left and right, along with two 9-pane sashes, one of which has been altered. All windows are topped with painted brick flat arches. The central entryway is round-arched and is flanked on the left by a rusticated stucco ground floor that features a plinth and a first-floor sill band. To the left of the entry, there is a moulded six-panel door with an overlight, and to the right, there are two plain sashes, all with rusticated lintels. On the right side, there are two more plain sashes with painted brick flat arches, followed by a wooden doorcase with a hood supported by scroll brackets, which leads to another moulded six-panel door and overlight.
