Description

The fountain at the junction with Salisbury Road in Kingston upon Hull is an ornamental structure, now serving as a flower trough. It dates from around 1875 and is made of cast iron. The fountain features a cruciform base that supports an octagonal pedestal adorned with four scroll brackets and four figures of mermaids blowing conches. At the top, there is a smaller octagonal pedestal with four life-size figures of herons, which holds a smaller shallow basin that contains a spout supported by scroll brackets.
