Description

This drinking fountain, located 330 metres south-west of the entrance to Pearson Park in Kingston upon Hull, was built in 1864 and funded by HJ Atkinson. It is made of cast iron and features a stone plinth. The central stem is decorated with a vine trail ornament and figures of lizards, topped with a bulbous shape and a conical round bowl. The fountain has an overall square canopy that is pierced and topped with a dome. There are round posts and an elaborate cusped round-headed opening on each side, with a roundel above each opening that includes an inscription.
