Description
East Lodge is a former lodge to Pearson Park, built between 1860 and 1861, designed by architect R.G. Smith. It is now a house but has been empty and boarded up as of September 2016. The building is constructed of yellow brick, featuring ashlar and blue brick dressings, and has a patterned slate roof with a coped brick ridge stack. It is designed in the Gothic Revival style and includes a plinth, a first-floor band, and dentillated brick eaves. The lodge has two storeys and a single window range, forming an L-plan. The left-facing gable features a traceried bargeboard and a canted stone bay window. Above the bay window, there is a window with a polychrome brick relieving arch. To the right, in the angle of the cross wing, there is a 4-panel door.
