Description

The water fountain in St Helens Road Park is a Grade II listed structure, dating from the late 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a low stem formed by four engaged columns that rise from a moulded base. This stem supports a shallow bowl, which has a rim adorned with floral motifs. From the rim, four slender curved stems extend upwards, joining at the top to create a delicate canopy that supports a decorative finial. Both the base and the bowl display a diamond-shaped relief foundry mark for Walter Macfarlane, Glasgow, Saracen Foundry.
