Description

The Beaconsfield Monument is a tribute to Benjamin Disraeli, Earl of Beaconsfield, erected in 1884 by the Ormskirk branch of the Primrose League. The monument features a painted sandstone pedestal and a limestone statue. The square pedestal stands approximately 3 meters high and includes a moulded base and cornice, with a lettered panel on the west side. The statue depicts an over-life-size standing figure of Disraeli, who is holding a scroll in his left hand. The monument was purchased second-hand from another town in Lancashire, funded by leftover money from various flag days.
