Description

The windmill tower, located approximately 30 metres north-west of the junction with Axholme Street, is a late 18th to early 19th-century structure. It is built from tarred yellow-orange brick and stands as a five-storey tapered round tower.

On the ground floor, there is an original board door facing south, a window to the west, and an inserted board door to the east beneath an original window arch. The first floor features blocked doors to the east and west, with a window to the south that has a 20th-century altered square head, and another window above it. The second floor has windows to the east and west, while the third floor includes a window to the south and blocked windows to the north, east, and west. The fourth and fifth floors each have a single window to the south and blocked windows to the north. The door and windows on the south side are aligned, while those on the other sides are slightly irregular. All original door and window openings are topped with segmental header arches, and the windows have stone sills. The tower features a dentilled and cogged brick cornice.

The interior of the first floor remains intact, but the upper floors are fragmentary and were not inspected.
