Description

The dry dock located to the south of Ouse Lock in Goole was under construction in 1835 and completed in 1841, with some later repairs. It is built of ashlar and has a rectangular shape with a tapering east end, measuring approximately 80 by 20 metres and about 7 metres deep. The sides are stepped, except for the west end. The west end features a stone floor, while the east end has a lower concrete floor. There is a hydraulic floating gate at the west end.
