Description
Linton House is a late 18th-century house located on the north side of Main Street, Asseby. It is a two-storey, three-bay building with a cross wing to the rear. The house is constructed of brick in an English garden wall bond and has a pantile roof. Architectural features include a central entry with a 20th-century eight-fielded-panel door and overlight, and 20th-century fixed windows with glazing bars in all openings, all set within segmental brick arches. The eaves are stepped, and the roof features replacement gable coping and shaped kneelers that accurately replicate the original design. Brick end stacks are present. The interior contains chamfered cross beams. The building is included on the list for its group value.
