Description

No. 61, Grove Hill Road is a house dating from circa 1877. It is constructed of red brick with a Welsh slate roof. The house has two storeys and three windows, featuring hung sash windows with glazing bars. The windows have rusticated lintels with keystones. There are two canted bays on the ground floor, and the doorway has carved moulding and a cornice, supported by brackets with swags. The doorway has a half-glazed door with a rectangular fanlight, and panelled pilasters. The house was originally built as the home for the architect W.H. Elwell. A photograph is recorded as plO3 in 'Historic Beverley'.
