Description

The Parish Church of St Nicholas is a Grade II listed building designed by J S Crowther of Manchester, constructed between 1877 and 1880. It is built in the Decorated style, featuring a nave, chancel, and south aisle made of West Riding sandstone, topped with a red tile roof. The church has a southwest porch with a tower above, which includes louvred bell openings, an arcaded parapet, and pinnacles. The interior showcases good octagonal Perpendicular font adorned with tracery motifs, which was brought from Long Riston. The church exhibits geometric tracery throughout its design.
