Description

The brick gateway in the wall to The Old Friary, located on the north-west side of Beverley Friars Lane, dates from the 16th century. It is similar in style to another gateway found in the wall of No. 52 Eastgate. Originally, the gateway was topped with a curvilinear gable, as was the adjacent wall, but these features were not present during the survey. They may be restored upon the completion of the Old Friary's restoration. A National Monument Register Photograph will be added to the description.
