Gate, Flanking Walls And Railings Approximately 10 Metres West Of Rimswell Water Tower

This structure consists of a gate, flanking walls, and railings, located approximately 10 meters west of the Rimswell Water Tower. It was built in 1916 for Hull Corporation Waterworks. The construction features a concrete wall and piers, along with wrought-iron railings, arranged in a semicircular plan. There are 12 piers with a gateway located in the fourth bay. The square piers have chamfered plinths, cornices, and pyramidal caps, and they are connected by a chamfered dwarf wall and railings. The terminal and gate piers are larger and more ornate, displaying relief inscriptions of "H C W" and "1916," along with the Hull coats of arms in relief above. The gates are designed with a mid rail and twin top rails, featuring plain bars and dog bars with pointed finials. The side principals have scrolled top sections, while the central bars are adorned with ball finials flanked by similar scrolls, creating a crown motif. The railings on the sides are similar in design. This structure is included for its group value.
