Description

Highgate Farmhouse is a mid-18th century house in Cherry Burton, situated on the south side. The building is constructed of red brick, which has been colour-washed, and is topped with a pantiled roof. It is two storeys high and composed of three bays. The central doorway features six bolection-moulded panels and an overlight with vertical glazing bars. To the right and left of the door are four-pane sashes with sills, all set beneath flat, gauged brick arches. The first floor has a sash with glazing bars above the door, as well as two further sixteen-pane sashes to either side, all with sills and flat, gauged brick arches. A dentilled brick eaves cornice runs around the house. The roof has end stacks with raised, coped gables sitting on shaped stone kneelers.
