Description
This building is a cart-shed and work rooms, constructed around 1830 with later additions and alterations, originally built for Sir Tatton Sykes, 4th Baronet. It is made of reddish-pink brick in English garden wall bond and features a pantile roof. The structure has two storeys and three openings on the first floor.
On the ground floor, there are two off-centre elliptically arched cart openings with ashlar keystones. To the right, there is an inserted two-storey opening with double plank doors. Additionally, there is a further off-centre round-arched opening with a plank door and ashlar imposts. The ground floor also includes three fixed light windows with four panes each, situated under elliptical arches and featuring stone sills.
The first floor has two similar windows and a plank pitching door between them, all under elliptical arches. The roof is hipped and swept, with ashlar ridge tiles. This building is included in the listing for its group value only.
