Description
The Triton Inn is a public house built in the mid to late 18th century, with later additions and alterations, constructed in two stages. It features colour-washed pinkish-brown brick and a pantiled roof. The building has two storeys and six bays, with the first bay slightly projecting and the two bays to the right being taller. There are entrances in the third and fifth bays; the entrance in the third bay consists of a part-glazed six-panel door set under a cambered arch, while the fifth bay has a six-fielded-panel door with an overlight featuring vertical glazing bars.
The first bay has a twelve-pane sash window, the second and fourth bays have sixteen-pane sashes under cambered heads, and the sixth bay is canted with a sixteen-pane sash in the centre and eight-pane sashes on the sides. On the first floor, there are unequally hung nine-pane sashes in the first and third bays, and unequally hung twelve-pane sashes in the second and fourth bays. The fifth bay features a six-pane sash under a segmental arch, and the sixth bay has a canted bay window similar to that on the ground floor. The roof is hipped, with ridge and end stacks.
