Description

The National School, now a hall, was built in 1834. It is constructed of brick with a pantile roof and features an open room. The building is single storey and consists of three bays, with an additional lower gabled entrance bay on the right. There are three pointed windows with timber Y tracery and a round-headed board door at the entrance bay. The gable has coping that terminates in cylindrical blocks, and there is an end stack to the left. A plaque on the gable end reads: "National School 1834 Revd Thomas Gur MA Minister, Thos Turton Church Warden." There is an additional lean-to on the left, which is not of special interest. The building is included for its group value.
