Description

Mains Farmhouse is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of red brick and features a Roman tile roof. The building has a hearth-passage plan and stands two storeys high with three bays. The entrance consists of a door with six raised and fielded panels, which is topped by an overlight and flanked by 16-pane sash windows, all set under segmental brick arches. On the first floor, there is a 12-pane sash window above the door, with additional 16-pane sash windows on either side. The farmhouse has end and axial stacks, and the brickwork at the gables shows tumbled-in brick with plain close verges.
