Description
No. 2 Lairgate is an early 18th-century building that stands two storeys tall, constructed from colour-washed brick and topped with a pantile roof featuring one gabled dormer. The building has a moulded brick eaves cornice. On the first floor, there is a late 18th-century three-light window, which has been partly resashed. The ground floor shop front includes a late 18th-century bow window that has been re-glazed with plate glass. Above the bow window are delicate pilasters, with small consoles that support a broken entablature featuring a modillion cornice. This area is currently covered with a glass sign. The shop front also has double doors with a glazed upper portion and a panelled stone base beneath the window.
