Description
2 Hengate is an early 19th-century building that stands three storeys tall, constructed of red brick with a slate roof. The eaves feature a wooden gutter supported by block brackets spaced at wide intervals. The building has five windows, which are casements with horizontal panes. The ground floor includes a full-width shop front with double doors in the center and an additional door at each end, one of which has horizontal panes. This shop front is adorned with six plain pilasters and a moulded entablature. The two shop windows retain their original large square panes. On the first floor, there are French casements fitted with simple wrought iron guards and wooden cases that have cornices. Above the first-floor windows, there are sunk panels with stucco enriched mouldings. The second floor features casement windows with moulded architraves.
