Description

Number 1 Ladygate is an early 19th-century building featuring three storeys constructed of red brick with a slate roof that is hipped at the corner. The eaves have widely-spaced block brackets. The building has two windows facing the street and two on the Ladygate return, all with stuccoed flat arches and voussoirs, and hung sashes that include glazing bars. There is a plinth at the base. The entrance door consists of six panels and is topped by a divided rectangular fanlight, framed by a wooden case with pilasters and an entablature. Inside, there is one late 18th or early 19th-century chimney piece located on the ground floor.
