Description
The outbuildings to the east of Thorndale Farmhouse are likely from the 18th century, with a mid-19th century addition at the northern end. They are constructed of reddish-brown brick in English garden wall bond and coursed clunch, topped with a pantile roof. The main structure is single-storey and consists of four bays, with a low two-storey range at a right angle to the north. The main range features an end entrance on the right, which is a plank door set under an elliptical arch, and a further blocked central entrance. There are also blocked breathers and four rectangular openings, one of which has a board cover beneath a segmental arch, while another is blocked. The south side has brick quoins. The northern range has two inserted windows with cambered heads, a swept roof, brick copings, and tumbled-in brickwork on the gable ends. At the time of the last survey, the buildings were undergoing conversion, and the northern range was unroofed.
