Description
29 High Street is a building with origins in the 18th century that was refronted in the early 19th century. It stands three storeys tall, constructed of brick with a stone-coped parapet. The facade features five windows on the upper storeys, which are hung sashes with glazing bars and rusticated lintels that include keystones. The lower storey has two similar windows, but these do not have glazing bars. The entrance is marked by a doorway flanked by Tuscan pilasters and topped with an entablature, featuring a rectangular fanlight and panelled reveals. There is a stone plinth at the base. To the right of the main doorway is another entrance with a stone lintel and keystone, leading to a door with four panels. The building is part of a group that includes Nos 29 to 35 (odd), 35A, and 37 to 69 (odd), as well as 73 to 93 (odd), with Nos 37 to 41 (odd) noted for local interest.
