Description
Brook Farmhouse is a late 18th-century house located on the south side of Burgate. It is constructed from coursed oolitic limestone rubble with brick dressings, and has a pantiled roof. The main part of the house is two storeys high with a symmetrical facade of three bays. A single-storey, single-bay wing projects to the left. The front doorway consists of six panels and an overlight, flanked by four-pane sash windows, all set beneath wedge lintels. The first floor has three similar sash windows also set beneath wedge lintels. A dentilled brick eaves cornice runs along the top of the house, and there are end stacks and coped gables. The left wing features a four-pane sash window under a wedge lintel, a stepped brick eaves cornice, and raised coped gables.
