Description
Hall Garth is a house built in 1787, as noted on an inscribed keyblock. It features coursed squared rubble with brick dressings and a pantiled roof. The building is two storeys high and has a symmetrical three-bay elevation, with the centre bay slightly projecting. This bay contains a panelled and glazed door, which is flanked on both sides by 4-pane sash windows with sills, all set beneath flat gauged brick arches that have projecting keyblocks; the arch above the door displays the date. On the first floor, there are three similar 4-pane sash windows, also beneath similar arches. Notably, to the right of the centre window, there is a lead mark from the Royal Exchange Assurance Company, dating from between 1810 and 1838. The house has end stacks and features tumbled-in brickwork at the raised gables.
