Description

Nos 51 and 53 on High Street are early 18th century buildings that stand two storeys tall, constructed of brick with a moulded cornice beneath a rendered panel below the eaves. The roof is covered with pantiles. The façade features six giant brick pilasters and seven irregularly spaced windows, which are hung sashes with glazing bars. The ground floor has two windows, but part of it has been altered to include two large display windows. Inside, there are well-preserved panelled rooms and a fine staircase. These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 29 to 35 (odd), 35A, and 37 to 69 (odd), with Nos 37 to 41 (odd) being of local interest.
