Description

Nos 55 and 57 on High Street are 18th-century buildings that stand two storeys tall with attics, constructed from painted brick and topped with a pantile roof. They feature a modern dormer with two lights set in elliptical reveals, made of brick. On the first floor, there are two windows with elliptical blocked reveals, which are sliding sashes with thick glazing bars. The ground floor has been updated with modern stone and includes two modern bow windows that also have glazing bars. These buildings are part of a group that includes Nos 29 to 55 (odd), 35A, and 37 to 69 (odd), with Nos 37 to 41 (odd) noted for their local interest.
