Description
No. 45 High Street is a late 17th-century building that stands two storeys tall and is constructed of brick. It features a moulded dentil eaves cornice and has five windows with painted brick voussoirs, hung sashes, and glazing bars. A brick band runs between the storeys. There are two dormers with sliding sashes and glazing bars. The ground floor showcases a well-preserved late 18th-century shop front, which includes two large delicately-glazed bow windows with an entrance between them, all beneath a plain frieze and dentil cornice. To the left, there is a door with six fielded panels, accompanied by a three-light rectangular fanlight and a keystone above. The building is part of a group that includes Nos. 29 to 35 (odd), 35A to 69 (odd), and 73 to 93 (odd), while Nos. 37 to 41 (odd) are noted for their local interest.
