Description

No. 21 Clifton Road is a house built around 1845 by Walter Scott. It is constructed of stucco with a Welsh slate, overhanging hipped roof. The building is two stories high and features a three-window range with a double-depth plan and a central entrance. The entrance has a part-glazed door with an overlight and sidelights, all set within a pedimented case supported by engaged columns. The ground floor windows on either side of the entrance are canted bays. The upper windows are 12-pane sashes set in stressed architraves, with a continuous sill band. This house is part of the original development of Clifton Park, which was designed by Scott as a villa estate.
