Description
This building, located at 7 to 15 Corniche Road in Port Sunlight, consists of five houses built in 1898 by Douglas and Fordham. The houses are constructed of brick with a plaster first floor and feature tiled roofs. They are two storeys high and have five bays, with the end three bays projecting by one bay. All but the fourth bay have gables, and there is a cornice over the ground floor. The gables on the first, second, and fifth bays have verges that extend over tile canopies on the first floor.
The windows include leaded casements, with two-storey, four-light rectangular oriel windows in the first, second, and fifth bays. The other bays feature brick mullioned windows with four segmental-headed lights, and the first floor has five-light windows on adjacent facades. The entrances are marked by decorated lintels and plank doors that include two leaded lights. There are lateral stacks on all but the fourth bay. The rear of the houses is similar in style, with tiled gables and privies.
