Description
Number 31 is a house located in Rock Park, Rock Ferry, built around 1836. It is constructed from coursed and squared rubble with a Welsh slate roof and features a simple Tudor style. The house is two stories tall with an attic and has a two-window range double-pile plan, with a narrow recessed entrance bay on the right. The entrance includes a six-panelled door set in a shouldered architrave, with a single narrow window above it.
To the right, the main range has an advanced gable that includes a canted bay window on the ground floor, featuring four-pane sash windows, and a tripartite window above with a relieving arch. There is also an eight-pane sash window beneath the apex of the coped gable. The left-hand unit has twelve-pane sashes with a coped gabled dormer over the upper window.
The property is complemented by polygonal gate-piers at the street, which have domed caps. Number 31 is part of the original development of Rock Park, which was laid out in 1836 by J. Bennison.
