Description
32 and 33 Rock Park are a pair of houses built around 1836 in the Italianate style. They are constructed of stucco and have a Welsh slate roof. The buildings are two storeys high, with an attic and basement, and each house features a double-pile single-unit plan, with the party wall located at the center of the gable.
The design is symmetrical, featuring a central gable and narrow outer bays. Each house has an outer entrance hall with paired two-panelled doors topped with fanlights, set in moulded architraves and accessed by steps. There is a narrow four-pane sash window above the central bays, with canted bay windows at the basement and ground floor levels. The ground floor also has round-arched eight-pane sash windows with lattice-panelled aprons. Above these, there is an eight-pane sash window in a moulded architrave, and a round-arched attic window in a segmentally-pedimented dormer that cuts into the eaves line. Both houses have axial stacks.
These houses are part of the original development of Rock Park, which was laid out in 1836 by J. Bennison.
