Description

Three houses, built around 1835. They are constructed of stucco with slate roofs. The central three-bay house is flanked by lower, projecting two-bay gabled blocks with basements. The central house has a string course above the ground floor and a sill course to the first floor, a top entablature, and a blocking course. The windows have eared architraves and are sash windows, without glazing bars. A central porch features a round-headed entrance, paired pilasters, an entablature, and a parapet. The flanking blocks have ornamental bargeboards with pendants. The ground floor of the central house has canted bay windows with segmental-headed sashes. The first floor has segmental-headed windows with eared architraves and sashes with two round-headed lights. The gabled porches to the flanking blocks have tented canopies and balustrades over round-headed entrances. The ground floor of the end sections feature canted gabled bays. The rear elevation is similar, with a basement, end canted gabled bays, and central rectangular bay windows. There is an ornate iron verandah and balcony to the rear. The front garden and areas are enclosed by decorative iron railings and gates supported by pairs of gate piers with segmental pediments, although these are missing to number 40.
