Description
This building is a terrace of six houses located at 16-22 Bridge Street in Port Sunlight, constructed in 1894 by architects Wilson and Talbot. The houses are made of stone with a timber-framed first floor and feature a slate roof with a tile ridge. The terrace has one storey with an attic and consists of six bays. The second bay has a jettied gabled first floor, while the third and fourth bays project forward under a gable.
The ground floor has single-chamfered-mullioned windows, with the first bay featuring a four-light window, the second and fifth bays having five-light canted bay windows, and the sixth bay displaying a two-storey gabled centre with a two-light window. The central bays contain four-light casements supported by a central buttress, and all windows are adorned with leaded glazing. The first floor includes paired two-light windows in the second bay, four-light windows in the third and fourth bays, and a three-light mullioned window in the fifth bay.
The entrances feature Tudor heads, spandrels, and plank doors. The building has five cross-axial stacks, two with diagonal shafts and the others with twisted shafts. The right return showcases a canted bay window with a deep parapet. At the rear, there are two shaped timber-framed gables and stone-walled privies. This listing also includes No. 24 Park Road and No. 25 Wood Street.
