Description
No. 83 Roe Lane is a farmhouse, now a house, likely built in the late 17th century or very early 18th century. It has been altered and enlarged since 1952. The building is constructed of white painted brick and has a slate roof. It features a single-depth, two-unit baffle-entry plan, with 20th-century additions to the left end and the rear.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a two-window range. The doorway is located at the right-hand end and is protected by a small gabled porch with a round-headed arch. There are two small three-light sliding sash windows on each floor, all with small panes. The gable chimneys are extruded, with the one on the right being larger and older. There is a small 20th-century extension to the left end, and the right-hand gable has two inserted windows.
Inside, there is a three-light window in the rear wall, which is now covered by the 20th-century addition to the rear.
