Description
Roach Villas is a house built around 1858, with some alterations. It features brown brick construction, sandstone dressings, and a graduated slate roof, designed in a "Regency" Tudor style. The building has a single-depth rectangular plan that is positioned at right angles to the street.
The exterior showcases a gabled one-window facade with oversailing bargeboarded verges, although the finial is now missing. There is a three-light wooden mullioned casement window on each floor; the ground floor window is taller and has a transom. Both windows have raised sills and run-out lintels with hoodmoulds, and they include narrow lights with horizontal glazing bars. A side wall chimney is located to the right and has been reduced in height. The right-hand return wall features a rebuilt lean-to porch in the angle.
The interior has not been inspected. Roach Villas forms part of a group with the adjoining house at No.43 on the left, while No.47 on the right is not included in this listing.
