Description
Broom's Cross is located approximately 67 meters from the junction with Back Lane on Thornton Holgates Lane. The base of the cross dates back to around 1300, according to a plaque, while the granite cross itself was erected in 1977 to commemorate the Queen's Silver Jubilee. It features a square stone base with an incised cross in the right-hand corner. The cross has chamfered members and a central quatrefoil that includes the IHS monogram. On the rear side of the cross, facing the lane, there is a commemorative plaque.
