Description
This is a terrace of five houses located at 109 to 117 Great Mersey Street, built in the early 19th century. The houses are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a slate roof. Each house has three storeys and a basement, with two bays. There is a stone lintel band at the stuccoed basement, a sill band at the first floor, a top frieze, a cornice, and a blocking course. All windows have wedge lintels. The rounded entrances are adorned with Doric doorcases that have fluted columns, stucco extradoses, and four-panel doors, while the fanlights contain two mullions. The front walls are rusticated and are complemented by iron railings with fleur-de-lys heads. Nos. 107 and 109 have casement windows, while Nos. 111 and 113 have sash windows without glazing bars; No. 113 features a 20th-century door. No. 117 is in a state of dereliction, with its ground floor bricked up and the upper windows decayed.
