Description
Nos 142 to 148 Chatham Street are a row of four houses built in the 1820s. They are constructed of brick with stone dressings and feature a slate roof. Each house has three storeys and three bays. Notable architectural details include a basement lintel band, a first-floor sill band, a top frieze, a cornice, and a blocking course. The windows have wedge lintels and are sash windows with glazing bars. The round-headed entrances are adorned with Doric doorcases that have fluted columns, complete fanlights, and four-panel doors. Additionally, there are plain iron railings around the areas and steps.
