Description
No. 48 Rodney Street is a house dating from the early 19th century, featuring a late 19th-century portico and attic. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a slate roof. It stands three storeys high, with a basement and attic, and consists of four bays. The windows are fitted with wedge lintels and are sashed, with glazing bars on the upper floors. The round-headed entrance is framed by a Doric doorcase, complete with a fanlight and a six-panel door. A Doric portico with an open segmental pediment adorns the entrance. There is a balcony on the first floor supported by chains. The top of the building features a modillioned cornice, while the attic has a mansard roof with pedimented dormers. The end stacks are topped with stone caps.
