Description
No. 35 Rodney Street is a house built around 1783-1784. It is constructed of brick with stone dressings and has a slate roof. The building has three storeys and a basement, featuring five bays. At the top, there is a pediment with a blind roundel. All the windows have wedge lintels and are sashed without glazing bars. The central entrance is round-arched and has a four-panelled door, framed by a Doric doorcase. The entablature above includes a frieze decorated with swags. The window above the entrance on the first floor has an architrave with a reeded frieze and cornice, while the second floor has a central blind window. This house is believed to be the first building completed on Rodney Street.
