Description

This railway bridge was built between 1828 and 1830 for the Liverpool and Manchester Railway, designed by engineer George Stephenson. It is constructed of stone and features a round arch with a parapet above. The abutments are swept forward, with coping that slopes down to short round piers topped with caps. There is also a round-arched extension to the south.
